We’re already half way through our Easter school holiday and have fitted a lot in. We’ve had family visiting, visited Peppa Pig World in collaboration with Save the Children, had a mini Spring clean and watched Pip learn to ride a bike without stabilisers! We also reviewed the Mini Bakers Club Spring Box for the month of March. BKD run the Mini Bakers Club and they send out their creative boxes each month. Every box includes quality baking ingredients to make a themed project, a craft activity, instructions for a detailed recipe and a lovely little booklet with fun facts. Plus, each box is personalised and has your chosen name on the delivery box.
We were very excited to receive the Mini Bakers Club Spring Box. Pip is big fan of hot cross buns or ‘hoss crot buns’ as he calls them and couldn’t wait to make them with me! He even danced beforehand singing ‘We’re making hoss crot buns today!’ It was so funny and sweet. We followed the instructions and he did most of the preparation including stirring, putting the mixture into paper cases and glazing the hot cross bun cupcakes after coming out of the oven.
These turned into the best hot cross buns we had ever tasted! It was so nice to receive the recipe though the post and have an amazing finished result by the end of the day as well as reading fun facts about Spring. The Mini Bakers Club boxes are a great way for children to learn through food, play and creatively and I love that every month there are several activities inside each box. We had a lot of fun with our box with Pip’s excitement reaching maximum levels during the baking stages! We haven't had time to make the crafty project yet, a little egg cress bunny, made from egg shells but we are looking forward to the task! The boxes are crafty, imaginative and fun and I recommend them to anyone with children aged 3+!
The Mini Bakers Club boxes costs £9.99 per month, £27.99 for 3 months, £53.94 for 6 months or£107.88 for 12 months.
Have you tried a Mini Bakers Club Box? Have you made your own hot cross bun cupcakes? I'd love to hear your thoughts ☺
