My Word For 2016

Happy New Year to you all! I saw this quote recently and thought that's exactly what I would like to achieve in 2016. I can't say 2015 was a great year for me. Sometimes, things don't turn out the way you expect them to but you just have to plod along as best as you can. I'm not making a list of resolutions this year. Instead, I've decided to have a one word theme for 2016: CHANGE.

I spent far too much of last year procrastinating and worrying about things so this year some things need to change. That doesn't mean I'm going to completely overhaul my life but I'm going to make some little changes here and there that will hopefully have a bigger & longer lasting effect. This means keeping to a better schedule, spending more time with loving people, being more creative, enjoying the moment, changing my general outlook and most of all doing things out of the ordinary and challenging myself. I also need to make some bigger changes in my life such as moving house which I was putting off last year as it all seemed so daunting. Change can be scary but can also be positive and uplifting and as they say there is nothing scarier than feeling stuck.

So in 2016 I've decided to embrace change. Because without it you never know where you might end up! Wishing you all a fantastic 2016! Do you have a theme for this year?

  1. Hi, my word for this year is consolidation. In the last 2 years I have: moved house 5 times; got engaged to be married; planned a wedding; cancelled a wedding; had a baby; become a single mum; returned to work after may leave; got a promotion and new job at work and probably some other things that i have forgotten. This year I want to do none of the above. I am in a much better place in 2016 than I was this time last year. I wanted to build upon the major changes already made and reep the hard earned rewards of the last 2 years,

Good luck with your change goals for 2016. I'll be reading to hear how you are getting on. Loads of love Pen. X

    1. Thanks very much for your comment. Gosh you have done a lot! How did you cope with all the house moves? I've done it twice in three years and that was enough! Glad to hear you're in a better place this year, I feel the same too. Thanks very much Pen, looking forward to seeing your year ahead too xx

  2. Love this so much Polly! Like you I don't make resolutions and choose one or two words that align with my goals to drive and inspire me. Small changes can have a huge impact if we stick with them and follow them through. Here's to an amazing 2016 for us all. P.S. I'd love you to link this up at #sharethejoy at TheJoyChaser if you'd like to x (MIchelle from The Joy Chaser and The Essex Barn)
